DANA ZÁMEČNÍKOVÁ : THE WAY OF EVOLUTION
Early on, I turned my attention from architecture and stage design (I studied at the studio of world wide famous stage designer Prof. Josef Svoboda) to scene compositions. This work created enclosed spaces of glass, that expressed the experiences of dreams and observed reality. This approach let me develop free composition in space. I started my career painting on glass with a realistic appraoch. But slowly this evolved into a kind of collage made from my own photography, drawing, and digital print etc. And finally, now, I print all this material on glass and, later after its fired, I again repaint. I call this multi media/multi layer way of working slumping, acid etched, scratch, painted and digitally enamelled collage on glass. Thanks to the architecture and stage-design study, it seems to me, that space is very important. I try to render and to express chains of events in both spatial and semantic relationships. I look for things which belong to each other, to family, to history, as well as to the present, i.e. that which belongs to humanspace and time. Continued>> |
